Change your diet
We all have done it before. As the New Year begins, we make a list of all the things we would like to change. At the top of that list for many people is a resolution to change their diet. We all know that the beginning to a healthy lifestyle is one where you are eating the proper foods. This means taking out junk foods and sweets and replacing them with nutrient rich fruits and vegetables.
Our spiritual diet must match our natural ones. There are so many things that when we look at them are really “junk foods” for our spirits. Things like television, social media, gossip, idle time, and procrastination keep us heavy and unable to manage the lifestyle God intended for us. We will find it hard to follow God’s call because of the excess spiritual weight we have. Hebrews 12:1 tells us, “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,”
What are the spiritual “junk foods” you have in your cabinet? As you are clearing out your cupboards and pantries this season, take inventory and do the same for your spirit. Your future and destiny will thank you for making the healthier change.
