Dear Pastor Finney:
I had the distinct pleasure of visiting your church on Tuesday for the Food Pantry and again on Wednesday for the Clothing Closet. From the bottom of my heart thank you and your church family for all they did to help me this week. This was my first visit and truly have nothing, but great and wonderful things to say about your members and volunteers. Everything was so beautifully orchestrated and organized, clean and everyone just so helpful. Thanks be to God Almighty it is all for His good. The people made me feel so welcome at the door. The saying over my door, “Welcome, come in as guest, but leave as friends and family.” – truly this should be your motto.
My visit on Tuesday 4/24/17, Wednesday 4/25/17, the ladies in the Food Pantry are super, extremely courteous, caring and loving. Please thank them again for me. Also on Wednesday for the Clothing Closet, the volunteers and gentleman at the door, just aided and assisted however they could.
2015 I was thankful. 2015 I came to Delaware blessed.
2017 I am grateful. 2017 I am better than blessed.
Came to New Castle to visit a friend of mine, got sick on the visit, then went to the doctors at Christiana Hospital: The Helen F. Graham Cancer Research Center. Yes, you know the journey was about to begin. Testing, MRI, bone sears, and all the works. I found out one day before my 57th birthday (The Good News) cancer in the right breast. But God had already prepared me for this journey and I came equipped – “The Word”. Yes, nothing but the word. Surrendering everything I had and just “trusting in the Lord”. My favorite verse Psalms 91:1-2, I read it everyday – morning, noon, and night: “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” Oh what an awesome God. Still on the battlefield everyday of my life. But I am truly, truly grateful for all the pain, suffering, trials, tribulations, but I know who to call up to. I went through chemo on April 1, 2015 and radiation 12/28/15 and surgery on 9/11/15. (Praising, thanking God for a miracle). In 1 Peter he says, “By my stripes you are healed. I declared and made a decree. It was done.” In one year, March 2016, I was told The Good News Again: “The cancer had jumped. I asked, “Why me Lord?” He said, “Why not you?” Surgery, testing again 9/30/16 – Right breast gone and now left one gone. Well Pastor Finney, “I am still yet here, thanking, praising, loving, witnessing and tell everyone about my friend “Jesus” Doctor, Healer, Miracle Worker, Lord, Savior, Almighty, First and last, Beginning and End!
I will continue to praise Him for the rest of my life till Eternity.
Be Better Than Blessed!
